The truth shall set you free!
This sculpture by Dean Allison, called "Born Again," is a great picture of the process through which God wants to take every child of His. The crystal upper body represents the new, pure Spirit that we are given when we put our faith in Jesus. As a new creation in Christ, we have a new, redeemed and true identity. The bronze that is being peeled off represents our old flesh and its sinful habits. With every lie that is replaced with truth, more of our new identity, "Christ-in-us," can be seen, and the more glory Jesus brings to His Father through us. As you can see, it's not always a pleasant process, but the key is to look to, and rest in, the One who is responsible for overcoming the flesh and bringing Himself glory.
When you enter into a discipleship counseling relationship, you'll experience a safe place and a "face on grace." Hope comes quickly, and it doesn't take long for one to realize that maybe things don't have to be the way they've always been.
As Jesus heals your broken heart, replacing lies with freedom-bringing truth, your eyes will be lifted off of yourself and your shame and placed on the One with whom you are one. God loves to show off how good He is through a broken and surrendered vessel.
Discipleship Counseling can take place at the Grace to Glory offices, over the phone, or by Skype. Counseling is offered on a sliding scale/suggested donation basis with $75 per hour-long session as a starting point. Call or email Tim or Michelle to get started.
